Amato Pizza

Amato Pizza describes themselves as having the best Pizza in Toronto. As a pizza afficiando, I had never heard of them. But given the opportunity to try them, I went in search of this restaurant on Yonge Street. If you didn't have their address, you could easily miss the shop when passing by. Even though they have a large variety of pizzas in their selection window, you could miss the store heading South. As advertised, their pizza selection is numerous. I had a slice of their Pollo Basilico (pesto, sundried tomato, chicken and mushrooms. It was fantastic even though it was premade and warmed up. The thin crust of the pizza was light and airy. It had a nice crunch when you bit into it. The pesto had a nice bite of garlic without overtaking the pizza. The toppings were extremely plentiful and unlike chain pizzerias where you dig for a piece of chicken, it was easy to find. The combination was a mouth watering blend of heaven and confirmed why they think they make the best pizza in Toronto.
