QUESTIONABLE COMPETENCE, AT LEAST Preparing for a long road trip, I had our Honda serviced at Sauble Beach Service Center several weeks ago. Part of the requested work included changing the automatic transmission fluid. Three weeks later, in Nova Scotia, I had the engine oil changed. I was fortunate that, by chance, the manager was personally doing the checking on the bay where my car was being serviced, and that he was an Ontario-trained mechanic who had worked for two years as a mechanic at a Honda dealership, and who personally only owns Hondas. As part of the normal checks as part of that service, the manager of the Mr. Lube checked the transmission fluid, which was a tan colour, with streaks of black, a probable sign of corroded metal debris.
