A customer of ours went in to have a solid gold ring set with a diamond simulant and rose motif on either side of the band re-sized. Bharti Jewellers had a look at the ring and said they could not re-size it. They looked at the ring with a jewelers loupe and went on to further say that the ring was hollow and not worth much. How can you tell from a loupe that a ring is not solid gold. They did not test it with a gold tester and made this assumption incorrectly. The Ring was surely Solid Gold and even had the 14k Gold hallmark on the inside of the band. Bharti went on to make the customer feel really bad about their purchase and basically told them they got ripped off were defrauded. Its truly sad when a jewelry shop owner clearly does not have any bench jeweler skills and makes an incorrect assessment on a ring. This is considered slander and a total disregard for the customer and company who created the ring. If you don't have the skill to re-size a ring then leave it at that!
