Description

Bonfire Bistro is a simple, classic neighbourhood bistro. We operate on a first-come, first-served basis rather than accepting reservations. Coordinating a reservation system with our limited seating results in disappointing too many customers, many of whom walk here from the neighbouring area.
It is our experience that customers wait too long at the door for their reserved tables if previous customers are taking longer than anticipated to dine. Conversely, due to customers not showing up or eating faster than anticipated, it leads to empty tables. Our establishment is too small to have empty seats. As well, our kitchen has limited capacity and therefore we are unable to accommodate groups larger than six. We want Bonfire Bistro to be accessible to everyone. Our intentions are to make it easier to get a table and to gratify the greatest number of customers by being a true neighbourhood bistro.

This cozy neighborhood bistro can get full pretty quick as it is a smaller restaurant, so you may have to wait before you get seated but the food, friendly service and charming atmosphere make it well worth the wait. Our waitress was professional and efficient with an excellent memory. She impressed us with how she was able to recite the detailed daily specials, as well as the long list of delicious desserts off the top of her head. The food is presented beautifully. My husband’s perfectly prepared steak was lying on a bed of savory noodles and topped with spears of asparagus, while my fire-roasted chicken pizza was made in their wood-fire oven and was nicely topped with fresh, colorful vegetables. Fabulous! We then shared an apple crumble with a crème Brule sauce and a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top, which was divine. The prices are reasonable, but not cheap. There are no reservations and no groups over six but for dinner for two or a small group, this is the place you want to visit.
